a gymnastics coach you have an obligation to teach gymnastics in a safe and
productive environment. Part of the safety includes teaching skills in an
appropriate manner by preparing your gymnasts physically and mentally for new
skills. When skills are introduced in a progressive manner your gymnast has the
best chance of safety, comfort, and success. Their body becomes accustomed to
performing the correct shapes, their muscles become accustomed to the correct
sequence of contractions, and their mind becomes trained to think, feel, and
form the correct movement.
gymnastic drills not only prepares the gymnast, but it prepares the coach. The coach will
be responsible for spotting the gymnast when they put the drills together to
perform the complete skill for the first time. As a coach, after studying and
practicing these drills and conditioning exercises, you will become aware of the
shapes you must see and the corrections you should offer the gymnast as they
perform the drills and skills. Once you have practiced the corrections and
spotting the drills you are better prepared to spot and coach the complete
skill. As a coach certified with us in the drills and conditioning method you
will prove that you possess great knowledge of progressive teaching and sport
specific conditioning for the best chance of safety and success in the gym.
will be a great tool in your coaching collection, but please understand that is
not the only gymnastics certification a coach in this sport needs. The number one
certification is the safety certification by USAG. Your knowledge should
come from many good sources including these gymnastics drills and conditioning
books, observation of and interaction with highly successful coaches who respect
their gymnast, and educational events hosted by USAG and USAIGC. As a coach,
safety should always be your main concern. It is your responsibility to learn
the best techniques and progressions for teaching any skill that your gymnast
will need. Good coaching is getting to the gym every day, but great coaching is
a continual process of refining your skills and knowledge in order to maximize
your gymnasts safety and success. We sincerely wish you the best of luck with
your gymnastics career and hope that you will choose this certification to prove
to the world that you possess a great collection of drills and conditioning
exercises in order to benefit your gymnasts.
certification includes all 6 gymnastics drills and conditioning books,
the test preparation materials and the test itself. Whether you decide to
complete the testing procedure or not, at the very least you will have had the
opportunity to view this vast collection of gymnastics drills and conditioning
exercises. The best path for you to take is to incorporate the drills and
conditioning exercises into your program. Once you have done that you should
complete the testing and send it in to be graded. Once you pass this test you
will be sent a beautiful certificate to display on your gymnastics facility
walls. This certificate will give the parents additional comfort. You have
proven that you possess great knowledge and they will know that their children
will learn skills in an organized and safe manner. We urge you to not only
prove to yourself that you have knowledge, but to prove it to the parents whose
children are literally in your hands.
gymnastic certification process will be convenient and will actually take place in the
comfort of your facility. It will take place over the course of 30-60 days. You
will be asked to answer a series of questions on video and you will demonstrate
how you have incorporated the drills and conditioning exercises into your
training program. You will actually be expected to use these drills and
conditioning exercises with your gymnasts. Your gymnasts will demonstrate the
exercise and we will watch and listen to the coach. We are grading the coach,
not the gymnast. We will look for proper technique and we will be listening for
the corrections you offer during the training clips you include. We will assign
certain drills and then offer the choice of a group of drills for you to
include. The final question will be for you to demonstrate a drill or
conditioning exercise that is not in the books. It can be on any skill or level
and it must be SAFE. We are looking for safety, usefulness, and creativity. We
are also expecting every coach to be respectful to their gymnasts. If we see
demeaning, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior you will not pass the certification

will be a selling point in your gym. Parents want to be very comfortable when
they leave their child with you. And they want the coaches to be educated and
certified in every way possible. You will have a safer and more productive
environment in your gym and a great way to truly stand out from the other
gymnastics facilities in your area. Tell the parents what you had to go through
to pass this exam and they will sign their child up with you because only the

complete your video and send it back. Grading may take as long as 2 weeks. You
will be sent a certificate for your gymnastics facility and a great sense of

gymnasts time to get comfortable, but
we want to see the learning process. Your gymnast will not necessarily perform
these drills perfectly from the start. It is more important that we see the
corrections being made because that will be a clear demonstration of your
understanding of the drill or exercise. It is imperative that you inform and
spot your gymnasts. Put your video together and send it back.
You should have a gymnast demonstrate the
drills and you should be spotting the gymnast. Since they may be new to the
gymnast be ready to help the gymnast with technique and safety. We are NOT
testing or evaluating the gymnast. We are testing the coach’s knowledge of the
